The public test of the vote tabulation equipment will be held Wednesday, October 23 at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Elections office.
The March 19, 2024 Primary Election audit hand count yielded 99.53%, 100%, and 100% accuracy rates of the tabulation of votes certified. 452 ballots were reviewed. (10.39% of all ballots cast) The issue preventing 100% tabulation accuracy was a single ballot marked incorrectly. Always mark your ballot by completely filling the oval next to the candidate of your choice.
The November 7, 2023 General Election audit hand count yielded 100% accuracy rates of the tabulation of votes certified. 1185 ballots were reviewed of the 8851 ballots cast. ( 13.38% ) Also, a recount of votes was conducted for Member of Board of Education for Triway Local School District. Results remained unchanged from the official certification.
The August 8, 2023 Special Election audit hand count yielded 100% accuracy rates of the tabulation of votes certified. 708 ballots were reviewed of the 6000 ballots cast. ( 11.8% )
The May 2, 2023 Special Election audit hand count yielded 100% accuracy rates of the tabulation of votes certified. 176 ballots were reviewed of the 868 ballots cast. ( 20.28% )
The November 2022 General Election post-election audit hand count yielded 99.76%, 99.76%, and 100% accuracy rates of the tabulation of votes certified. 830 ballots were reviewed. ( 9.4% of all ballots cast ) The issue preventing 100% tabulation accuracy was a single ballot marked by checkmarks. Checkmarks do not scan and tabulate accurately. Always mark your ballot by completely filling the oval next to the candidate of your choice.
At the June 10, 2024 meeting, the Board set intitial allocation of equipment and ballots as follows:
- One ADA ballot marking device and one ballot scanner at each polling location
- Two electronic pollbooks per precinct
- Pre-printed optical scan ballots equal to 80% of voter registration to polling locations with an additional 25% printed and designated for absentee voting
At the October 9, 2024 meeting, the Board increased the allocation of pre-printed optical scan ballots to 100% of voter registration to polling locations with an additional 35% printed and designated for absentee voting.
