Voting Absentee

All Ohio voters have the opportunity to vote in the next Primary or General Election from the convenience of their own homes by requesting an absentee ballot. You can request your ballot for each individual election beginning on January 1 or 90 days before the date of an election, whichever is earlier.

Absentee Ballot Applications must be received by your local county board of elections by the close of business on the seventh day before the election.

How do I apply to vote absentee?

  • Fill out and print an Online Form then mail or take it to the Board of Elections Office .
  • Print a Request Form to fill out by hand and mail or take to the Board of Elections Office at:
    Marion County Board of Elections, 222 West Center Street, Marion OH 43302
  • Absentee Ballot Applications must be received by the county Board of Elections office by the close of business on the seventh day before the election

All voted absentee ballots must be received at the Board of Elections Office by 7:30pm on election day or postmarked on the day before the election in order to be counted. Voters should request an absentee ballot as early as possible in order to meet the return deadline.
